A return is usually included in the form writ furnished by the clerk. If the attorney prepares the writ, a return should be provided. The officer receiving the writ “shall make return thereof as of other cita­tions.” Tex. R. Civ. P. 663. See the discussions of the officer’s return at sections 16.8 and 27.60 in this manual.

For a writ of garnishment before judgment to be served on the garnishee, see form 8-5. For a notice of garnishment to be served on the defendant, see form 8-7.
